The club was formed in 2007 by Angela O Dwyer and Olivia Twomey. The clubs first major activity was to take part in the Feile na Gael, which was hosted in Kilkenny County that year. We have also since taken part in the GAA La Na gClub this year (2009).
This year (2009) the membership has grown to 65 players and 15 committee members, including 10 trainers. The club colours are green and white and the club shares the GAA facilities with the Kilmacow Hurling and Football Club. Our training times are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 7, this arrangement works well with the other teams using the sports complex facilities.
The Camogie club has had a few busy years of fundraising, including raffles, pub quizzes, bag packing and point to point racing day. In 2009 The Camogie Club kitted out our own dressing room which is small but well used. Special thanks to Ger Hennessy and all the parents who helped out in this endeavour. We also paid for the erection of a new net behind one goal on the main pitch; this is a big addition to training facilities.
Our main sponsors have been Country Style Foods, Roadstone & Kerry Foods, we are very fortunate to have had their support in purchasing our jerseys and throughout the years since our formation. Thanks also to Nicky Molloy at Maximum Clothing and Rory Williams at Country Style Foods for all their help during the last year. A combination of player involvement and adult cooperation has contributed to the enjoyment and success that the club and its members have enjoyed this year.
